A few weeks ago, Richard Mille expanded the RM 65-01 lineup with two new colors and captivating watch collectors. This collection is known for its high-frequency automatic split-second chronograph, ensuring precise timekeeping and performance.

The bold new colors add a fresh, dynamic aesthetic to the watch, appealing to seasoned collectors and newcomers alike. Let’s explore what makes this watch unique!

New Colors for RM 65-01: Yellow and Blue Quartz TPT

Two new additions have joined the RM 65-01 lineup. The first model features a pastel blue Quartz TPT case, while the second is a limited edition of 120 pieces in dark yellow Quartz TPT.

Each color on the dial corresponds to a specific function, enhancing readability. This color-coding extends to the pushers and crown, ensuring intuitive operation.

Apart from the new colors, the specifications remain consistent with the rest of the RM 65-01 collection. Both watches are made of Quartz TPT (Thin Ply Technology), a composite of multiple layers of quartz fibers, originally developed for the RM 27-02 Nadal.

This material is known for its high-temperature resistance, strength, and transparency to electromagnetic waves.

Measuring 44.50 x 49.94 x 16.10 mm and water-resistant to 50 meters (165 feet), the tripartite cases house skeletonized dials. These dials are enhanced with vibrant colors to maintain legibility despite numerous indications.

Inside the Intricacies of the RM 65-01

First launched in 2020, the RM 65-01 comprises 600 components and stands as the most complex automatic (non-LE) watch produced by Richard Mille.

Known for its focus on motorsports and highly intricate chronographs, Richard Mille’s journey began with the RM 004—a manually-wound, split-second chronograph powered by a Renaud & Papi caliber. The new RM 65-01s are the latest in this esteemed lineage.

The RM 65-01 features a high-beat, self-winding chronograph powered by the Caliber RMAC4, a high-frequency movement with variable inertia, oscillating at 36,000 vibrations per hour (mph)/5 Hz. This movement, supplied by Vaucher, is based on the architecture and layout of the Parmigiani caliber PF361.

The chronograph includes a vertical clutch and dual six-column wheels for a smooth pusher feel, capable of timing events up to 12 hours. It boasts a total power reserve of 60 hours, while a variable-geometry rotor optimizes winding according to the wearer’s activity.

The new additions to the RM 65-01 lineup not only showcase Richard Mille’s commitment to innovation and precision but also highlight their flair for bold and dynamic design.

Whether you are a seasoned collector or new to the world of luxury watches, the RM 65-01 offers a blend of performance and style that is truly unmatched.
