The distinguished Watches and Wonders 2024 fair returned last week, showcasing the latest innovations in timepiece craftsmanship. Over 54 renowned brands, including industry giants like Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Cartier, attended the event, unveiling many new watch releases.

It’s common for big reveals to happen at this event every year because watchmakers use it to show off their newest collections. The event occurred in Geneva, Switzerland, as is customary, given the city’s status as the birthplace of numerous prestigious luxury watch brands.

In this article, we’ll delve into some of the most noteworthy debuts from this year’s Watches and Wonders.

Best New Watches from Watches and Wonders 2024

According to Bloomberg, a distinctive trend is emerging at this year’s event: an abundance of new releases featuring metal as the primary material, with a notable emphasis on rose gold options.

Major brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, Chopard, and Vacheron Constantin are among those embracing this trend.

A few notable pieces have garnered attention within the array of recently revealed timepieces. Here, we highlight some of the finest watches introduced at Watches and Wonders 2024.

1. Rolex Perpetual 1908

In its second year, Rolex has once again unveiled a new addition to the Perpetual 1908 collection, which made its debut last year.

This latest offering features a transparent “sand-grain” dial in a captivating sour-candy blue hue, seamlessly blending classic and modern elements.

It was initially introduced as a tribute to the year of its founder’s naming of the company, and last year’s Perpetual 1908 boasted conservative brown and black options.

However, this year sees a remarkable upgrade with a platinum case and a meticulously etched ice-blue dial, enhancing the watch’s allure and sophistication.

2. Patek Philippe 5738-1R

Another intriguing addition to the lineup is the Patek Philippe 5738-1R, distinguished by its departure from the conventional aesthetic of the brand’s other popular models.

Sporting an oval-shaped dial paired with a chain bracelet, this timepiece marks Patek Philippe’s inaugural venture into this style of band. It exudes a refined, elegant, and opulent aura without veering into ostentation.

The moniker “The Golden Ellipse” is not merely a label; it briefly describes the watch’s elliptical case shape and pays homage to the case’s design inspiration: the revered Golden Ratio.

The Golden Ratio is a mathematical concept that declares that a line divided into two segments exhibits the Golden Ratio if the ratio of the longer segment to the shorter one equals the ratio of the longer segment to the entire line.

3. Cartier Privé Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph

In the Watches and Wonders 2024, Cartier introduced the eighth installment of its esteemed Privè collection, featuring a single-button chronograph model that dates back to 1928.

Dubbed the Privé Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph, this new addition showcases the iconic Tortue-shaped case, measuring 43.7mm in width and 34.8mm in height.

The 1928 MC Manufacture caliber powers the timepiece, pulsating at a frequency of up to 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasting a power reserve of 44 hours.

The timepiece is available in two exclusive options: a platinum version with a burgundy-red alligator strap and a yellow-gold variant with a dark blue strap. Each option is limited to 200 numbered pieces.

Tudor fans have reasons to celebrate the introduction of their latest collection, the Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT.

Given its connection as the sibling brand of Rolex, Tudor’s decision to offer a timepiece that echoes the design and color scheme of Rolex’s famous collection is hardly surprising.

This watch’s vintage-inspired appearance makes it noteworthy and appealing to those who appreciate classic and retro styles. Drawing inspiration from Tudor’s reinterpretation of Rolex’s iconic ’80s-era Coke GMT, the Black Bay 58 GMT exudes a timeless charm.

Buyers can opt for a full steel bracelet or a custom-fit rubber strap in a single configuration. With a 39mm case width, the watch features local jumping hours and a 24-hour hand, complemented by a rotating 24-hour bezel.

The Carrera Skipper features a tri-color subdial complemented by a rose gold case. The rose gold model maintains its signature blue dial and nautical-themed accents, including a red hand for the chronograph seconds.

The watch measures 39mm wide and 13.9mm thick, including the sapphire crystal, with a lug-to-lug distance of 46mm, and boasts a balanced and proportionate design.

Powered by TAG Heuer’s specialized movement, the Heuer 02 (TH-20-06), the timepiece offers a 12-hour column wheel-actuated chronograph, a date complication at six o’clock, and central chronograph seconds.
